Since the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the start of the Great Recession, lawyers have been no strangers to job loss. In fact, the legal sector goes through periodic contractions that abruptly throw attorneys out of work. 

Changes in corporate leadership, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, corporate bankruptcy, reorganization, shiftings demands for skills in practice areas are other reasons lawyers suddenly lose their jobs.
